Gray’s LAMBscaping presented Industry Champion Award

January 2025

Jess & Marcus Gray of Gray’s LAMBscaping, LLC manage sheep across multiple solar projects totaling 4,000 acres in the Commonwealth. Last week, Conservatives For Clean Energy (https://lnkd.in/gRYt7E2S) presented the Industry Champion award to the Virginia farmers for their effort to drive adoption of renewables by speaking at public meetings, attending conferences & releasing quality content online. Through their website and social media outlets, the “dynamic duo” of solar grazing shares best practices in agrivoltaics while detailing their experiences aligning agriculture with power generation. This work is critical to building a coalition of stakeholders that support solar by demonstrating what is possible when values are stacked to benefit local communities. Raising sheep under the panels is good for the livestock, benefits the environment & promotes free enterprise business. The honor is bestowed upon key partners that are truly striving to improve their operation while supporting their neighbors through economic development. Jess, in particular, has completed a Nuffield International scholarship, was selected as a 2024 Virginia Rural Leader, is a Board Member of the American Solar Grazing Association & recently finished the Farm Credit of the Virginias AgBiz Planner program. Marcus holds a Certified Wildlife Biologist® credential from The Wildlife Society which requires a diverse education in natural and social sciences necessary to manage large landscapes for ecological integrity – something critical to the sustainability of solar installations.
